Bilquist Elementary

Bilquist Elementary received a major renovation in the summer of 08. Work at the existing school included the following:

1)     The existing Office area was expanded to the west with the main entry remaining on the south side.;
         The new floor plan was stepped to maintain bus drop-off and sidewalk clearances.

2)     The new Media Center with AV storage was moved to the front of the building for better community access.

3)     The new computer lab is adjacent to the Media Center for easy access.

4)     A new 4 wing classroom addition was constructed at the east end of the existing building.

5)     The Music Room remained in its current location on the second floor. A new elevator was installed to provide handicap
         access to the second floor.

6)     The Kitchen was expanded to the west and was completely renovated and outfitted with mixture of existing and new
         equipment.

7)     Special Education and the Resource Room took  the place of the existing Media Center and Computer Room.

8)     To allow more light to enter the corridor area, several small group areas were constructed off of the main corridors with
         clerestory windows and skylights.

9)     The classroom areas received cosmetic upgrades including: new paint, lighting upgrades, window upgrades, and select
         flooring replacement.
